Nepisiguit Salmon Assessment & Enhancement

The 2014 project will commence in June with electroseining surveys of all subject streams to determine juvenile salmon densities as well as other aquatic life. Water quality surveys, mainly pH and temperatures, along with predator and environmental surveys are carried out throughout the project. Minor obstructions to fish passage are removed as encountered. Stream surveys, to build up and check on the inventory of stream habitat, are carried out in September-October, as is data compilation for the final report. When water levels allow, spawning surveys to determine egg deposition are carried out in late October-November.
