Midgell River 3-year Habitat Rehabilitation Project.

Recipient: Morell River Management Coop
Approved Amount: $17,000
Year Approved: 2015

This project will apply consistent and continuous restoration methods over a term of three years that will address habitat degradation from impoundments, natural and manmade, on the entire Midgell Watershed. Unmanaged proliferation of beaver populations and the resulting dams have resulted in highly degraded water quality in the entire watershed. Areas of significance to salmon survival will be targeted. Two of-note are the Pius Macdonald Pond and an area low in the system just above Herman James’ Bridge.
