Development of salmon potential in Laval River

The objective of the funding application is to promote the salmon potential of Laval River. This counting fence project consists in determining the present state of salmon populations in Laval River, related to the abundance (number of spawning run salmons) and the biological characteristics of the population (proportion of grilse and sea winter salmons). This necessary information will enable us to determine the need or the relevancy of a subsequent measure for habitats. In addition, this essential information will ensure a better management of salmon, namely by proposing a review of sports fishing conditions following the reception of the fence results.
