Wild Salmon Day
May 30, 2025Wild Salmon Day is on June 1st!
Wild salmon connect us across waters, cultures, and generations. But they’re in crisis, and they need our help to survive.
This June 1st, people across the Pacific and Atlantic will raise the flag for wild salmon. It’s a shared symbol of support – and a call for action to restore wild salmon and their habitats.
“FCAS wants to do its part in the movement to protect this iconic species by recognizing and creating awareness for this special day,” says Charline McCoy, Executive Director of the Foundation for Conservation of Atlantic Salmon. “FCAS is dedicated to being a leading source of funding for community-driven initiatives focused on wild salmon conservation as well as promoting enhanced community partnerships in the conservation of wild Atlantic salmon and their habitat in Atlantic Canada and Quebec.”
“Together, we can make a difference for wild salmon and the ecosystems that rely on them.”
It’s a shared responsibility
Restoring wild salmon is a shared responsibility. Whether you fish, teach, govern, or just love the outdoors, wild salmon need you in this. Together, we can be the reason they’ll keep coming back.
Cold, clean water matters
Wild salmon rely on cold, clean water, healthy rivers, and thriving oceans to survive. Let’s raise awareness about the threats they face and drive bold solutions for their recovery.
Indigenous leadership is critical
Each time this flag rises, another ally stands with wild salmon – and Indigenous guardians and leaders are at the forefront of this movement.
