Smolt fence and adult counting to gauge success of ongoing egg planting in the Rennie’s River

The smolt fence is part of an ongoing project to reintroduce salmon back into the Rennie’s River watershed. We have been planting eggs in the river for the past 5 years. Last year we counted 115 smolts via a smolt fence. This project will continue to count outgoing smolts for 3 years and returning adults for 2 years. Additional tasks will include a watershed plan which will contain long term strategies beyond 2020.
