Opening up breeding habitat by breaching beaver dams

Dams on the Patapédia, Upsalquitch and Kedgwick sections of Restigouche River will be identified with the use of arial surveys and computerized tools. Field crews will be deployed to open the habitat a few days before reproduction. Targeted trapping activities will reduce the beaver’s population on some tributaries.
