Healthy Watersheds, A Sustainable Balance

This project will restore ecological health for Atlantic salmon on two watersheds in Central Prince County, Prince Edward Island. Improvements to salmon habitat will include planting riparian buffers and the establishment of fifteen hundred new trees in these areas. We will mitigate the impact of past sedimentation events through stream restoration on three kilometers of stream. Additional efforts will be made to improve fish passage and habitat by carrying out beaver management activities and the installation of in-stream rock and cover structures.
