Ouverture de l’habitat reproductif par brèches dans les barrages à castor

With aerial surveys and technology tools, dams will be localized on the Patapédia, Upsalquitch and Kedgwick sections of Restigouche River
Teams will be sent on the ground to open the habitat a few days before reproduction.
A report will be drafted to summarize the year results in terms of habitat opening and program success. Electric fishing results on the increase of juvenile salmon population of previous years will be included in the report. A salmon passage device will be tested on a beaver dam to determine its efficiency.
Some targeted trapping activities will help decrease the beaver population on some tributaries.
