This project will continue to emphasize remediation work on habitats affected by sediment, erosion and fish passage problems. Work will continue in the same problematic area of the Scoudouc River where ATV activity has damaged to surrounding banks. Stabilization will also be done at a water quality site in a tributary of the Scoudouc River.

Habitat assessments, culvert assessments, electrofishing surveys and temperature logger monitoring, will be done to identify limiting factors for Atlantic salmon production. Data from these surveys will be used to update the watershed management plan and help develop a strategy to address these limiting factors.

This project is also designed to expand the engagement and education of stakeholders who have a vested interest in the health and use of Shediac and Scoudouc Rivers. All media channels at our disposal will be used to inform stakeholders and the interested public on conservation efforts.
