Salmon in a changing environment: Developing community-driven water temperature monitoring and salmon observatory networks in the northern range of Atlantic salmon

Recipient: Memorial University (Clément)
Approved Amount: $20,000 (1st year of 3 year project, $15,000 in both years 2 and 3, total: $50,000)
Year Approved: 2016

This project aims to develop a community-driven water temperature monitoring network as well as a observatory salmon network while building capacities in aboriginal and non-aboriginal communities. The monitoring networks will aid in developing simple water temperature models that will be able to provide thermal scenarios associated with predicted climate change.
