En 2014, elle entame un projet de ma\u00eetrise \u00e0 l\u2019Institut national de la recherche scientifique, Centre Eau Terre Environnement \u00e0 Qu\u00e9bec sous la direction du professeur Normand Bergeron, directeur scientifique du Centre interuniversitaire de recherche sur le saumon atlantique (CIRSA) et sp\u00e9cialiste de la g\u00e9omorphologie fluviale ainsi que de l\u2019habitat du poisson en rivi\u00e8re. Son projet de recherche porte sur la fragmentation de l\u2019habitat du saumon atlantique juv\u00e9nile par les ponceaux routiers et forestiers. C\u2019est en monitorant les d\u00e9placements \u00e0 petite \u00e9chelle de plus de 500 saumons juv\u00e9niles \u00e0 travers les ponceaux sur le territoire de la rivi\u00e8re Grande Cascap\u00e9dia (Gasp\u00e9sie, Qu\u00e9bec) et la rivi\u00e8re Sainte-Marguerite (Saguenay, Qu\u00e9bec) que Rosemarie a pu mettre en relation les caract\u00e9ristiques morphom\u00e9triques telles que la pente et la longueur des ponceaux avec la capacit\u00e9 des poissons \u00e0 franchir ces structures.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0\u00c0 cause du d\u00e9veloppement du r\u00e9seau routier, les ponceaux sont des traverses de cours qu\u2019on retrouve en grand nombre dans les bassins versants des rivi\u00e8res \u00e0 saumon. Savoir s\u2019ils permettent le passage de l\u2019esp\u00e8ce est un enjeu de conservation primordial, sp\u00e9cialement pour la dispersion des poissons \u00e0 leur jeune stade de vie.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Il est \u00e0 souligner que la Fondation pour la conservation du saumon atlantique (FCSA) a \u00e9t\u00e9 un partenaire essentiel pour la r\u00e9alisation de ce projet d\u2019envergure. De plus, Rosemarie a eu la chance de faire un stage aux bureaux de la FCSA \u00e0 Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ricton \u00e0 l\u2019hiver 2017 dans le cadre du programme Mitacs Acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration.
