Moccasin Pond Brook enhancement project

The Indian Bay Ecosystem Corporation brook enhancement project will remove blockages as well as install erosion and velocity control mitigations along the 1.3 km salmon tributary within the Indian Bay Watershed.  We will work to remove an existing beaver dam from the inlet of the brook, stabilize of the stream bank with vegetation and rock combined with channel velocity mitigations. These enhancements will control erosion on the lower part of brook as well as serve to deepen the stream bed itself. This, combined with removing an existing beaver dam, will improve the overall health of the brook and will enable salmon to once again access the headwaters of Moccasin Pond Lake.
